Nadine Steinmetz (neé Ludwig) graduated from Ilmenau University of Technology with a degree in Computer Science in 2005.

From June 2006 until April 2010 Nadine Steinmetz was a part of the MuLF Center at Berlin Institute of Technology as a research assistant where she was researching on Cooperative Knowledge Spaces and the integration of Semantic Web technologies to improve the navigation through room-based e-Learning platforms.

In May 2010 she joined the research group on Semantic Technologies at the Hasso Plattner Institute for Software Systems Engineering in Potsdam. Her main research field was automatic annotation of video metadata using semantic technologies.

In 2014 she received her PhD from University of Potsdam (resp. Hasso Plattner Institute) for her dissertation entitled "Context-Aware Semantic Analysis of Video Metadata".

From April 2015 Nadine Steinmetz worked at the Ilmenau University of Technology. In the first two years she was focussed on the development of educational technologies, the enhancement with semantic functionalities and the support of extra-occupational course offerings on digitale learning platforms.

In April 2017 she joined the Databases and Information Systems group and the DFG project "Asked and Answered". The project has been completed successfully in June 2021.

From November 2021 to October 2023 she led the project Bürgerservice Digital at TU Ilmenau.

Nadine Steinmetz now holds the (sub-)project leads of DFG project DECIPHER also located at TU Ilmenau.

From March to September 2023 she was a substitute professor for the Medieninformatik group at Bergische Universität Wuppertal.

Since October 2023, Nadine Steinmetz is a full professor for Data Engineering and Data Science at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt.
