Bachelor Angewandte Informatik

The bachelor’s program Angewandte Informatik (Applied Computer Science) leads to the first vocational qualification - Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) after 7 semesters. The teaching language is German.

To study at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt means to study in a relaxed atmosphere:
small groups, individual contact to professors, engineers and staff. Exercises and seminars in well-equipped laboratories belong to almost each course to enhance the lecture. Working on projects in little teams encourages the practical application of the acquired knowledge. An early contact to partners from industry and economy facilitate the way to the occupational career.

Why Applied Computer Science?

Applied Computer Science is a lucrative and cutting-edge field. Almost all areas of everyday and work life will be changed in the digital revolution. Applied Computer Science shapes this transformation with practical methods, techniques, and procedures of data processing in specialized areas of application.

After the course of studies our graduates are in high demand across many practical applications and are able to perceive an interface function.

Aim of Study

To obtain the aim of study, practical oriented knowledge and skills are taught in the main areas of computer science. Expertise in technologies, algorithms, and programming are taught and also methodical skills to analyzing, planning, and implementing.

With the start of the third semester, theoretical and practical knowledge is enhanced in one of the four areas of application: computer science in engineering, computer science in media, computer science in business, or computer science in traffic.

The course of study links general knowledge in computer science with specific expertise. This empowers our graduates to be responsible for important development tasks in their area of application in enterprises and public services.

Areas of Application

After two semesters of orientation, skills and knowledge in computer science in a specific area of application are taught in the second phase, from third to seventh semester.
