The onset of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and subsequent lockdowns have resulted in a widespread shift of activities from offices and educational institutions to homes. Many small and medium-sized enterprises have had to quickly adapt their business processes to completely new conditions. In light of these developments emerged a great need for collaboration and communication tools for remote working and E-Learning. Although there is already a wide range of software, features and integrations available today that offer solutions for individual company requirements, many companies and teams opt to host the applications on their own IT infrastructure for economic and security reasons. By doing so they can determine the location of the data themselves, for example to meet the requirements of data protection laws. Another important aspect is the organization of multiple communication and collaboration tools for remote working teams. In this paper, a self-hosted, open source solution as a central coordination platform for teams is presented as an alternative solution.
