IRIS ist ein "Network of Excellence" im 7. Rahmenprogramm der EU Forschungsförderung.
Das Ziel von IRIS ist der Aufbau eines virtuellen Exzellenz-Zentrums, das für das Gebiet des interaktiven digitalen Erzählens einen Durchbruch ermöglicht, in dem es Kenntnisse zusammenträgt und die Entwicklung von entsprechenden Technologien unterstützt.

IRIS at Fachhochschule Erfurt

Within IRIS, the main research focus of Fachhochschule Erfurt (FHE) is in the area of authoring systems for Interactive Storytelling, as well as on open issues of production and creation of interactive narratives. FHE is work package leader of "Authoring Tools and Creation Methods". Further, FHE contributes to the work packages of "Narrative Formalisms" and "Interaction and Dialogue", and cooperates with all project parts and partners.
* FHE's part in IRIS was transferred to Hochschule RheinMain (HS-RM) with the change of Prof. Spierling from FHE to HS-RM in March 2010.
